STATE DIRECTOR

Description

The State Director is a strategist for Marianne Williamson's 2024 campaign and the manager of the Political Team that executes many of those strategies -- directly and in partnership with progressive allies, organizations, and delegates.

Responsibilites

  • Participate in building political strategy for the campaign; advise senior leadership on implementation
  • Develop and manage relationships with key stakeholders (elected officials, candidates, allied groups, partners, delegates and party officials)
  • Monitor state and local level policies and possess a deep understanding of the policy landscape in the respective state
  • Collaborate across teams to execute political goals for the campaign, including county parties, statewide voter contact and statewide distributed organizing strategy
  • Manage the political department, which currently includes Deputy State Director, Political Director and Regional Field Director
  • Manage project timelines and effective completion of project deliverables
  • Develop and implement statewide voter engagement programs and strategies
  • Coordinate with local, county-level, and statewide to develop a delegate strategy plan
  • Assist with/and manage budget preparation and monitoring for all project-related activities and ensure appropriate tracking of expenses and other duties as assigned by the Campaign Manager

Required Skills

  • 5 or more years of experience working in politics
  • Deep political relationships across the state to build a strong progressive coalition
  • 2 or more years of experience managing and coaching staff to meet goals
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and find solutions to difficult situations
  • Ability to develop work plans, set deadlines, work well with minimal supervision, prioritize assignments, and organize multiple projects and duties simultaneously while meeting deadlines

Preferred Experience

5 or more years of experience working in politics
Deep political relationships across the state to build a strong progressive coalition
